I think the biggest change that Anne made was that she had to learn how to cope with others because her family, the van Pels, and Mr. Dussel were the only ones that Anne had besides Kitty. I can relate to this because I am Jewish and I could have been stuck in that same situation if I was alive then. What I want to know is who ratted out all the people in the Annex? They would never have been found out if someone didn't tell the cops about them. So who did it?

  2. I think that the biggest change Anne had to make was learning to be quieter, calmer and more cautious!!! She also had to learn to get along with the Van Daans and Mr.Dussel, which she did well! I can realte to this book because I am about Anne's age (one year younger) and I can see that she is a very brave person. I want to know what would have happened to the diary if Anne Frank hadn't been sent to the consentration camp and killed.

  3. The biggest change that Anne Frank made in her life, obviously, is going from a loud, popular, admired teenager to a more mature and wise person who is virtually cut off from the world. Since I am Anne's age, many things are the same. It's disturbing to witness the same scenes in life, only much happier. I'm secretely an avid writer in a diary, too, and I write about everything happening like the exasperation of parents- the same as Anne. I'll answer Abby's question, "What would have happened to the diary if Anne Frank hadn't been sent to the
concentration camp and killed?" I heard that she wanted it to be published anyway, as an account of the war. She even went back and revised everything.
My question is: What makes people like Hitler so cruel to other people?

  4. I think the biggest change that Anne Frank made was that she has grown more maturely, as even she says it. In the start, she was perky and made people feel annoyed by her. Then she realize the things that was occuring and paid attention to what she was going to do, so she would be careful and not reckless.

I can relate to her since I have a sister, Yuka, who writes a diary and doodles. And I can understand that Anne and Yuka both does not want anyone to read it. But Anne wants it published and Yuka just throws away her entries in trash so that no one will be able to read it. But I have! And I am very upset about what she writes in it. It is similar to how I read Anne's diary.

  5. I think that the biggest change that Anne Frank made was how she enlightened people with her diary about how bad the holocaust actually was. I think she really helped people to see her side of the story.
A connection that I can make in the book is between Anne and I. It is that we both really like to talk and are both really friendly.

  6. Sorry! I forgot my question....
My question is Do you think it was hard for Anne Frank to live for so many years without any other girls her age?

    ReplyDelete
  7. I think that the biggest change Anne made was sharing her diary with the rest of the world. This allowed people to learn more about the Holocaust from the real thoughts of someone living through the worst of it.
I can relate to Anne through my age. Because we are both teenagers, we have the same views on certain things, like how parents are unfair, or how we have to live up to our siblings.
Question: How do you think Anne would feel about having her diary published today?
Answer to Emily B.: I do think that it was hard for Anne to live for so many years without a girl her age. In the start of the book, Anne talks about needing a real friend. Then she had to live without one, even though it was something she wanted and needed at her age.

  8. I think the biggest change that Anne went through was becoming more of an adult. She grew more cautious about hurting people's feelings and she also discovered new things about her mind. She learned how to keep certain things to herself because they would upset other people. Which is where the diary came in.

One connetion I can make to Anne is that I like to express my feelings in a diary as well as Anne. Sometimes I like to keep things to myself because I know that it would be offensive to other people. I like to share secrets and ideas to my diary just like Anne. Except, I write to my diary just a little bit. But Anne wrote really regularly.

My question is: Do you think Anne would've persued her dream of being a journalist or writer if she got out of the concentration camp alive?

I will answer Abby's question: I think that she would've just gone on with her life if she had gotten out of the concentration camp. She probably would have kept in touch with Peter, and continue to write in her diary. She probably would've continued to dream of being a journalist. I'm guessing if she had lived to be older, she would've been a very sucessful journalist.

  9. I think the biggest change Anne Frank made was changing the lives of others. By her writing the journal and then her dad sharing it with others she helped them understand how hard it was for not only jews but also other religions during the war.
I can relate to Anne Frank because she doesn't think her parents understand her a lot of the time and think that too. I fight with my parents and think i'm superior to them a lot even though I'm not just like Anne.
My question about this novel is why did Mr. Kugler hide the Franks and the Van Daans when he knew the consequences were so harsh.
To answer Liza R.'s question i think hitler must have had a bad childhood to make him so cruel.

  10. I think the biggest change Anne Frank made in her own life was becoming more mature as she grew up. She said herself at one point that when she looked back on who she had been before going into hiding she saw herself as having been very shallow.

I can relate to this book because I am around the same age Anne Frank was when she wrote this diary and even in a different time period, many of the experiences that some with growing up remain the same.

I think if Anne Frank hadn't died in a concentration camp the diary still would have eventually been published since that was Anne's initial plan anyway. I wonder how long she would have continued writing in it or if she planned to publish her entire life's story.

I want to know how exactly the Franks came to include Mr. Dussel in their hiding place. How did they know they could trust him?

  11. I think that Anne Frank changed throughout the book to become a better person and one who wants to keep the peace. She no lonmger wants to pull insane pranks and to argue with people. She also started to like Peter. That is how she changed throughout the book. A connection that I can make between me and the book is that I argue with my parents and don't always agree with my brother. This is something that Anne did too.
To answer Liza's question, Hitler was so cruel so he could gain control over Germany, and people followed him becasue Germany was in an economic downturn becasue they lost World War 1. My question is why didn't jewish people during the war pretend that they were another religon?

    ReplyDelete
  12. I think that as the book went on anne became mutch more mature, arguing less about petty things as well as thinking for herself. anne is about my age so I can relate. my brother gets on my nerves sometimes, and I dont always agree with my family. to answer grants question, jewish people wanted to stay true to their religion. my question is, did any of annes manuscripts survive besides her diary?

  13. The biggest change Anne Frank had to go through was not being able to see friends or go to school. She didn't get to be like she used to; loud and talkative. My connection with Anne is that she is just like a 14 year old girl; she gets in fights with her parents and sibbling.
My question that I would ask-
What would you take with you in a small bag if you suddenly had to go into hiding for more than a year? Why?
My anser to Elanors question is- I think they had known Mr. Dussel before he came into hidding. And they probobly didn't have time to worry about if he was good or not. What was the worse he could have done to them... kill them? I think they had gotten over that fear a while ago.

  14. Oh sorry I forgot to answer someone's question! To answer Allie's question, I think Mr. Kugler did it because he cared about them. He didn't believe in Hitler and everything, and he did it out of the goodness of his own heart. I think he used to know them a little bit before they went into hiding, so he felt inclined to help!

  15. Anne Frank made many changes in her life, as well as the lives of others. She made a big step in her life by going into hiding. She basically gave up the life she was used to, and began a whole new life in hiding. Her life in hiding was anything but normal, she had to make many sacrifices just because she was "different", and sadly, she wasn't the only one. She also inpacted the lives of others around her, even in this generation. She made people realize how important that time in history was, and how many people had to suffer for not doing anything.
Anne Frank can connect to many teens. Including me, she was just a regular teenage girl growing up in a hard time. She is struggling with her parents, and going through a normal teen life. She relates to many teens all around the world.
My question is, do you think that Anne's family ever knew the thoughts she expressed in her diary? Do you think Anne would keep that life a secret?

  16. My answer to the question.
Question: I want to know what would have happened to the diary if Anne Frank hadn't been sent to the consentration camp and killed.

Answer: I think Anne would have continued to write in her diary through her teenage years, maybe she would realize that she had an interesting story and published it on her own. Either way, i think the diary would have become a sucessful book.

  17. From my previous comment, I have a question to ask.

Did anyone else in the book thought that Anne had those kind of feelings toward those people?

For Cara's question, my answer is that I think it would still be published because that's what Anne wanted and she edited entries in her diary.

  18. I think that The biggest change Anne made in her life was becoming a better and more mature, and she also became more tolerant of people. She became very determined to stay a good person, like she said many times. She didn't want those years of her life to make her a bad person who hated everything, but she also missed being priveliged and having lots of friends.
One connection I have with Anne Frank is that her and her family fought sometimes and so do my family and I. Not as much though because we aren't all together all the time.
My question is why didn't Anne try to be nice to everyone so they would be nice to her? That probably could have made everyone have a much more pleasant life in the Secret Annex.
My answer to Cara's question is that I think they just thought of her as an angsty teenager who didn't really need to be taken seriously. I also think Anne would have forgotten her hateful feelings after a while, and realize that anyone could get a bit cranky in an annex for 3 years.

  19. Anne changed a lot through the book, but I think the biggest change Anne ever made was having to accept and endure that many put downs
she recieved from the rest of the annex. She also accepted
a few other things she was scared to accept such as her extreme dislike of her mother and her jealousy torwards Margot, who Anne thought was her mothers favorite. I can relate to her frustration with the adults in the annex who seemed to look at Anne as a small child because I sometimes feel like my parents try to treat me like a child. My question is, do you think Anne would have ever solved the many problems she had with her mother if the Franks had survived the war? I think I'll answer Cara's question, Anne really didn't keep her thoughts a secret because after the war her father did get a hold of her diary, which he probably later read.

  20. I think that the biggest change Anne went through was having to deal
with living crowded in the annex with all the other people. I also think that she just had to go through dealing with all of the prejudice and racism ditectred towards her. She also had to deal with the racism against her friends, family, and various other people she cared about. I think she made a change for other people by making her own experience available to them even though it was her father that had actually done that. I can relate to how she wanted to have a friend or someone to talk to and tell her struggles to. Also, I am the same age as Anne was when she wrote her diary, so I can relate to her that way. My question is: what made Otto Frank decide to publish the diary? In response to Margarets question, I agree that it would have made a whole lot more sense for her to have been nicer. She did seem a bit mean sometimes to the other people in the annex.

  21. The change that Anne Frank made on others is that you shouldnt treat people differently because of what they believe in and you also should love everyone because you dont know what could happen to them in that day or the other days. Like when the Nazis were coming to people houses and taking Jews away they ddnt know if they were going to see each other ever again.
The connection i can make to me and the book is that I know people that are treated differently sometimes just because of who they are and what they believe in.
The question i have is did Anne Frank ever get to see her family again?

I think that the biggest change Anne Frank made was that she became more mature throughout the book. At the beginning of her diary she talked about how she was loud and rambunctious and often talked about how people were annoyed with her. But at the end of her diary, she seemed more mature and it seemed like she could control herself better. I relate to Anne because we are the same age and we both have a sister that we don't always get along with. In response to Alexandra's question, I think that Anne would have pursued a career as a writer if she had survived the war. I don't think she would have published her diary, but she probably would have written a story about her experience in the Annex. My question is: If Anne found out that her diary was published, do you think that she would be excited that something she wrote was made into a book, or would she be angry that her personal thoughts were shared?

    Period Three.

The biggest change Anne Frank made was being a loud, average, teenage girl to a silent, in hiding mature adult. At the beginning of the book she talked about boys a lot and how she and her friends had a lot of fun. As soon as she went into hiding she realized that she had to change her ways. She expressed this in her diary that people always thought differently of her when she acted like a kid.
A connect I can make to Anne is how I had to grow up and change. Last year I didn't take school seriously and I acted crazy. This year I learned that you can't take life as a joke.

Question: If Anne was to see her parents after the war, how would she react?

Answer to Kirstin: I don't think Anne would be angry, she would want the world to see how awful Jewish people were treated. She had to risk her life in hiding just to live and people should know that. She should be proud of the things she did in her life.

  24. The big change in Anne franks life was having to go from a typical teen with school and boy troubles to living in hiding knowing that at any minute someone could come and kill you.

I , like anne, have some school troubles though I try to get good grades

Answer to Liza R.: Hitler was like that because going up he had a difunctional family. The reason he hates Jews is that he had an abusive grandfather that was Jewish so he belives that All Jews are like that and need to be punished.
