  2. The challenge was faced by telling Jefferson that he was a hero and he should help his grandma. The character I related most to was Jefferson because he anticipated his death and I always anticipated bad things that were happenning to me. I learned in this book that if your fate is sealed, than you should be kind to others who still have their lives to think about

  3. The problem that Nathan had was that there were obstacles in his goal to become a surfman. He overcame this by changing his plans, and going to school to be a doctor. The charater I related to was Nathan because I work hard to achieve my goals. I learned to not give up even when people tell you that you're not good enough.

  4. The challenge was that Grant was supposed to turn Jefferson into a man before Jefferson's execution. Grant succeeded in this by becoming a friend to Jefferson and making his last time live bearable.
I guess I relate the most to Grant Wiggins because he has moments where he feels it's all too much, just wanting to forget everything and go somewhere new.
I learned if you ever get wrongfully accused of something and are sentenced to death, you should live the rest of you life nicely, not just moping in your cell.

  5. Unfortunatly Jefferson died in the electric chair but he died a man. He walked up to the chair and did not say a word. I think that I relate to Reverend Ambrose because I am religeous and I take religeon seriously. I learned that even though justice isn't always served how you think but sometimes the little things like dying a man is enough.

  6. Sadly, Jefferson pleaded innocent but was still charged with murder, and sent to the electric chair. I think that before he died, Grant Wiggins was able to help Jefferson in most every way that he could.
I would have to say that I probably relate to Miss Emma the most. Obviously, you don't see her happy and cheerful much in the book because she is grieving so much, but I think she is very sociable normally. Lastly, she loves to cook, like me.

  7. The problem faced in A Lesson Before Dying was not fixed, therefore Jeffrson did die in the electic chair. Although he was taught to die a man, and not a pig. Even though most of the time he did not show his interests toward becoming a man, I think thAt inside he knows everthing he needs to become a man. I personally think I relate to Grant Wiggins the most because he likes to teach others. I love to inlighten others with learning and Grant does the same. I think the overall lesson of the book is to take every moment like it's your last bcause you nevr know when it will be gone.

  8. The challenge in this book was the Grant needed to make Jefferson a man and Jefferson would not talk to anyone. This challenge was overcame because Grant was really nice to Jefferson and he started to trust him. Jefferson ended up dying a man. I think that the character that I can relate to the most is Grant. I say this because there are times that Grant feels like he has way too much he has to do in this book and just wishes he can go somewhere else and forget about all of it. I sometimes feel like he does when I have so much to do. I think that the main thing that i learned from this book is that you should live life to the fullest even when you know that you are going to die. I also learned that you should try to stay away from trouble because you might get blamed for no reason.

  9. One of the main problems that I described earlier was that of Mr.Wiggins trying to convince Jefferson to talk, and become a man. I think that he definitely did resolve this problem, partially by talking to him, and partially by giving him that diary. Jefferson became convinced that he was a man, not a hog, and even though he still ended up dying, his believing in himself was all that mattered.
I would say that I am most like Grant, because he is pretty stuborn, not open-minded, and he really only wants to listen to his own opinions. I also think that he has a lot of passion for teaching, and I used to think that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up.
I learned from this book that you should never give up: Mr.Wiggins didn't, and that was how Jefferson ended up learning that he was really a man.

  10. The challenge I said that was faced in the book was that had to teach Jefferson how to be a man before his death date. This problem was resolved when Jefferson began to respond to Grant and understand what he was trying to say (about people loving him and how he could be a hero). The character I relate to most, I believe, is Grant Wiggins. I relate to him because at times I can be mean and strict, but at others, I can be sensitive. From the book, I learned to accept things that happen to you and making the best of your situation.

  11. My challenge was Jefferson thinking that he was a hog. Grant helped Jefferson overcome this. I guess I relate best to Miss Emma because I try to get people to do the right thing even if it annoys them. I already knew that there's a big difference between dying because you're going to anyway and dying proud, but it's a good message to remember with dignity.

  12. Jefferson did end up dieing at the end .I probably relate to Grant because when thing go bad he want to forget it and keep moving on with his life and sometimes I am lile that. I learned that when things are going bad you keep trying and mabye it will turn out like you wanted it to but it might not. If it doesn't then you keep your head up ans dont give up.
