  1. I think that the challenges so far are going to be how Cole will survive the island without anything to help him. He has no supplies because he was dumb and burned them. I think also Cole will have a problem to make a shelter and find food. He will have to go and forage for food and will be very cold in the winter. But why did he burn everything?

  2. A challenge that he faced was that he got mauled by the spirt bear. I think that he will go to jail in the future. I believe that he will take the sentence peacefully and will try to make up for what he did wrong to other people. Do you think that Cole's change will be forever?

  3. Hi this is wiley. The book touching spirit bear contains many conflicts. One conflict is when Cole got mauled by the spirit bear when he tried to attack it. The attack left Cole half dead on the
beach. I believe that another conflict is going to be between Cole and his parents. I wonder if Cole will ever learn to be peaceful?

  4. I believe that the main conflicts in this book are Cole's aggretion twords others has gotten out of hand. After he sevierly injured Peter Driscal he is charged as an adult in court and faces going to adult prison. When Cole isn't commuted to the Circle of Justice. He doesn't want to change and only wants toavoid prison. I predict that Cole will soon find out that without his food and shealter he has little chance of servival. What do you think will happen to Cole after staying on the island alone?

He also trys to swim to land not knowing that in Alaska the water is could. The tide pussed him back to the island. I think that he will touch one of the plants And get some spins in his hand. Now what was his plan when he got back to land because he was swimming in his underware.

Some chalenges that cole mathews has faces is when he broke a bunch
of bones in his body after the spirit bear mauled him like some type of peanut butter filled toy. Another challenge he faces was when he tried to swim away from the island. I think that another challenge he might face in the future is to survive/avoid his prison sentence. I belive tjat this will be a challenge becausehe already promised to always tell the truth and his prison sentnence mifht harden him again.

A question I have for my fellow peers reading this book is: Do you think Spirit Bear is a form of symbolism? why or why not?

  7. I think the main challenge was Cole trying to be a great person and that dosen't care about anyone else and blames everything on other people and doesn't care what other people think or say. Also another challenge is that Cole keeps trying to escape from the camp. He also keeps trying to light stuff on fire.

What should the punishment be for Cole?

Cole has faced some pretty tough challenges. He has made the incredibly smart decision to BURN his shelter and food supply. He's tried to swim off the island...in Alaskan waters. Sensible? Noooo. However Cole's greatest challenge is getting mauled by a bear and trying to fend off the elements and scavengers while extremely weak. I'm wondering how the boy genius makes it out of his latest plight.

  9. The challenges that Cole has faced is having to drunken, abusive, non-caring parents that just make him worse and worse. He has also made a clever decision to burn all his supplies to survive on this island. That wasnt very smart of him i dont think. I predict that in the future he will never ever ever ever ever ever ever feel comfortable with his parents. I also believe that he will eventually forget about circle justice and stay the same, just beat up his peers and... yes of course he will definatly go to prison and adult prison at that.

  10. i think the challenges Cole have faced so far are those of the circle justice thong because ots hard for him to keep his temper under control and the challenge of surviving in the wilderness and being mualed by the SpiritBear. i think one of the challenges that is in the not too distant future for Cole is going to be attempting to escape the island by swimming. I also think a challenge that is going to present itself is trying to survive after being mauled by Spirit Bear. i think as these challenges present themselves Cole won't back down because he loses his temper easily and is hot headed because he thinks he is invincible and that everything should be scared of him.

  11. The first thing that i want to say is that, so far touching spirit bear is a great book. the challenges that cole faces are especially riveting. these challenges include burning his supplies and shelter out of anger. and a mysterious white bear. ithink that in the future the bear will present an even bigger challenge and cole will finnaly have to come to terms with himself an the world around him. i think that at first he will react negtively to the challenge, but will eventually learn somthing about himself the world and maybe feel some remorse for the people. he has hurt

  12. I think that Cole will get picked up by Garvey and he will try to convince him that he has changed, but Garvey will make him stay on the island and he will start to get angry again. I think that he will react to this ngrily at first, and then hve an epiphany about life. I thik that Cole will eventually learn his lesson, and he will go back to his state and be put under Garvey's foster care. I keep wondering why Cole would try to fight the spirit bear in the first place. After all, everychild knows how destructive and powerful a bear can be.
